STORYBOARD - Goals and Objectives
1. Learn to express one’s self through creating works of art
- Applied in every lesson
- This will be stressed more in Art Elective and Art Club
2. Learn to respond to works of art
- Appears in most assignments except for lecture.
- Grades 6, 7 & 8 through trips to museum
- Presentation of artist works in class
- Application through their own art work
3. To understand how artists express themselves through their art work
Same as #2 however, expression and relating through art work more strongly stressed in Art Elective and Art Club.
- Through trips to the art museum
- Through lecture and demonstration
- Presentation of famous art works
- Discussion of fellow student’s works
- Demonstration, discussion, and presentation of my work
4. Understand and apply media, techniques, principles and theory in art.
- Main objective of class
- Student will be more free to choose a different media

ART ELECTIVE OBJECTIVES -a review of old theories, an introduction to new and fresh ideas, principles and theories
1. Color
- The student should be able to apply principles of color using color wheel as a tool
2. Composition and Design
- Apply principles and theory of composition and design in all works - paintings, drawings and prints
3. Learn to draw the portrait using various approaches, contour, line and value drawing, color if time permits
4. Apply principles and theories in their art work
- Perspective
- Print making
- Drawing
- Painting
5. Computer Art
- An introduction to a new kind of graphic design
6. Creativity
- Because of a greater understanding of theory and principles creativity will become stronger and more important - new ways to use the medium, new approaches, new ideas
ART CLUB OBJECTIVES
The student will become more familiar wit one or two particular forms of art
- Drawing - watercolor, tempra, and/or acrylic
- Painting - pencil, ink and/or charcoal, colored pencil
- Print making leno cut
Because the approach is always the same and basic rules and theories apply to all forms, previously learned rules and theories will be put into practice and reinforced.
New methods and approaches will be encouraged.
Creativity will be an important part.
Research as to technique of artists shown and demonstrated.
