SUBJECT: VISUAL ARTS
Pre kindergarten students will:
1. Express the creative “self” through making works of art.
2. Learn to respond to works of art with enjoyment
3. To become aware of how societies express values and beliefs through visual forms.
4. To become aware of others in groups and their drawings and art works
5. Talk about their own work and that of others, and tell others stories of art work
6. Learn about Color: Be able to recognize primary colors and know that all colors come from them.
7. See the Design in their work: Be able to identify shapes and be aware of size differences.
8. Learn to recognize parts of a face and their location.
9. Learn to fill the page.
10. Learn about the basic idea of a base or horizon line.
11. Learn to form a sculpture (e.g. paper, Styrofoam, clay, tin, wood, paper Mache, and found objects).
12. Learn to assemble sculpture by cutting, bending, folding, tearing, piercing, overlapping, and balancing pieces.
